This species has been collected on cacao and mango in many Pantropical regions, including Brazil (Monteiro et al. 1999, Mound et al. 2019). In the Brazilian Northeast it is a pest of cashew and has been reported causing yellow chlorosis, and browning on leaves of Litchi sp. in São Paulo (Sánchez-Soto & Nakano 2004). In the State of Mato Grosso do Sul (Monteiro et al. 1999) it has been recorded damaging Eucalyptus, also guanandi ( Calophyllum brasiliense) (Fig. 137) and Liquidambar styraciflua (Figs 128, 138), in the State of Paraná (Lima et al. 2016).
