Retithrips syriacus (Mayet)

This species is widespread in the tropics as a minor pest on cultivated plants. In Brazil, it is considered a pest of Eucalyptus sp. and grape vines (Monteiro et al. 1999) and was also found causing damage to the leaves of the ‘physic nut’ Jatropha curcas (Figs 127, 135) in Piauí (Silva et al. 2008), on maniçoba ( Manihot glaziovii) (Bastos & Alves 1981) in the State of Ceará, and on rose leaves in the State of São Paulo (Fig. 136) (Lima et al. 2016).
