Type locality: Pacific Ocean off Panama at 7°40’00” N, 79°17’54” W. Illustrations: Anderson & Heemstra, 2012, fig. 13; Kuiter, 2004:18.

D: X, 12 to 14 (usually 14). A: III, 7 or 8 (usually 8). P: 16 to 21 (usually 19). C: 15 (8 + 7). V: 26 (10 + 16). S: 2. GR: 33 to 38 (9 to 11 + 24 to 27). LL: 60 to 71 (usually 62 to 68). CP: 36 to 50 (usually 43 to 47).

Distribution: eastern Pacific: California to Peru.
