Callipallene emaciata (Dohrn, 1881)
The previous record from Egypt in Chimenz & Lattanzi (2003) must be based on Helfer (1936) who listed a species termed “ Pallene brevirostris ” Johnston which he lumped, following Schimkewitsch (1929), with “ Pallene emaciata” Dohrn. At the time of that record Callipallene brevirostris sensu stricto had not yet been found in the Mediterranean. Arnaud (1976) listed this species from the Turkish coast (Gulf of Izmir).
