Ammothella longipes (Hodge, 1864)
This species had already been found in Turkish waters (gulf of Izmir: Arnaud 1976, 1987). In the western and central Mediterranean it is widely dispersed, and has been recorded in the Aegean Sea (Arnaud 1987, Chimenz & Lattanzi 2003). Helfer (1936) cited the species (under its synonym Ammothea magnirostris) from the fishery grounds off Alexandria, but as he counted 8 articles in the palp his specimen(s) might well have been an Achelia species.
