Hexarhopalus (Hexarhopalus) attenuatus (Pic, 1922)

(Figs 20 D–E, 21A)

Leprocaulus attenuatus Pic, 1922a: 24; Kaszab, 1983: 177; Löbl et al. 2008: 343. Type locality. China: Yunnan (Pe Yen Tsin). Leprocaulus (Pseudocoelophus) attenuatus Pic, 1922a: Kaszab, 1983: 179 (with photo of habitus).

Hexarhopalus (s. str.) attenuatus (Pic, 1922a): Bečvář & Purchart, 2008: 40.

Remark. The type locality ‘Pe Yen Tsin’ is now called Shiyang Town (Ƃŧẘ) of Dayao County (Ęďss), and formerly called Baiyanjing (àü#) of Yanfeng County (üƚss). Ren and Xu, 2011 identified the specimens from Ailao Mountain (Yunnan Province) as Hexarhopalus (H.) attenuatus . However, we examined the specimens from the same locality, and the different characters suggest that specimens from Ailao Mountain is a new species. Although they are similar in general appearance, and both possess three longitudinal grooves on pronotum. But they can be easily separated from each other, the new species with shoulders fully developed (shouldersless in Hexarhopalus (H.) attenuatus), and except the lateral one, other two grooves of pronotum are much weak (deep in Hexarhopalus (H.) attenuatus).
