Xiruana affinis (Mello-Leitão, 1922)

Aysha affinis Mello-Leitão, 1922: 23 (female holotype from Belo Horizonte (19°49’01”S; 43°57’21”W), Minas Gerais, Brazil deposited in MNRJ 0 1453, examined).

Xiruana affinis: Brescovit, 1997: 104 .

Diagnosis. Females of Xiruana affinis resemble those of X. aymara n. sp. by the epigynal plate with the posterior border twice as wide as the anterior border, but differs by the conspicuous atrium, copulatory ducts not curved distally and spermathecae clearly separated (Figs 11 G, H).

Description. Female (MZSP 12288). Coloration as in X. hirsuta . Total length 7.5, carapace length 3.5, width 2,1. Clypeus height 0.16. Eye diameters and interdistances: AME 0.12, ALE 0.12, PME 0.1, PLE 0.1; AME–AME 0.08, AME–ALE 0.08, PME–PME 0.24, PME–PLE 0.2, ALE–PLE 0.08. Chelicerae 1.9 long, with four promarginal teeth and five retromarginal denticles. Leg measurements: Leg I—femur 3.1/ patella 1.9/ tibia 3.5/ metatarsus 2.6/ tarsus 1.3/ total 12.4; II—3.3/ 1.3/ 3.0/ 2.3/ 1.0/ 10.9; III—2.0/ 1.0/ 1.5/ 1.7/ 1.0/ 7.2; IV—3.5/ 1.0/ 2.9/ 4.0/ 1.0/ 12.4. Leg spination: I—tibia v2-2 -2, p0, r0, metatarsus v2 -0-0, p0, r0; II—tibia v2-2 -0, p0-0-1, r0, metatarsus v2 -0-0, p0, r0; III—tibia p1-1-1, r1-1-1; IV—tibia p1-1-1, r1-1-1. Epigynum: short seminal receptacles inserted medially on copulatory ducts; spermathecae oval, fertilization ducts short (Figs 11 G, H). Abdomen: length 4.0, epigastric furrow 0.9 from tracheal spiracle, spiracle 2.0 from base of spinnerets.

Male. Unknown.

Distribution. Southeast Brazil (Fig. 15 B).
