17. Scaphander nobilis Verril, 1884

Distribution. This is an amphi-Atlantic species occurring in the eastern Atlantic from the Bay of Biscay to Senegal including the Azores and in the western Atlatic is known from Brazil, Cuba, Haiti, Trinidad & Tobago, Gulf of Mexico, USA, Canada, and Venezuela (Massemin et al. 2009; Eilertsen & Malaquias 2013).

Remarks. No material of this species was found.
