DISTRIBUTION: Ahaggar Mtns. (S. Algeria).

COMMENT: Schwarz, 1933, Ann. Mag. Nat. Hist., (10) 12: 625-626; Hatt, 1936, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 72:117- 141; and Bothma, 1971, Part 12:1-8, stated that this species may be conspecific with brucei, and it was so placed by Roche, 1972, Mammalia, 36:41.
