Gerris (Gerris) thoracicus Schummel, 1832

Material examined. Bassin Oujda, 26.0 2.16, 1 m.

Distribution. Palearctic species. This species is widely distributed in the northern part of Morocco (L’Mohdi 2016). In the Oriental Region, it was localized at Ain Benimathar spring (Chavanon et al. 2004). We also found G. thoracicus in an artificial pond (for protection from floods) located in the campus of Mohamed Premier University in Oujda (Fig. 3).
