Distribution. Maghrebian species, distributed mainly in the northwestern part of Morocco (L’Mohdi 2016). In the Great Moulouya, it was known only from Zeghzel’s springs (Chavanon et al. 2004). Our work has provided many more records and improved our understanding of the distribution of V. ioannis (Fig. 4).
