Genus Platymya Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830

Diagnosis: Eye setose; parafacial bare, at its narrowest point about 1/4 times as wide as parafacial at base of antenna; arista thickened on at most basal half; upper part of head with at least 1 row of black setulae behind the postocular row; scutum before suture with 4 dark longitudinal stripes; postpronotal setae arranged in a more or less straight line; scutellum entirely black, with crossed apical setae; katepisternum with three setae; katepimeron bare; wing cell r 4+5 without petiole; fourth costal section about as long as sixth costal section, but if longer, then scutum with 3 pairs of postsutural dorsocentral setae; abdominal tergites 3 and 4 each with one pair of median discal setae.

Remark: This genus is newly recorded from Iran.
