Hypsibius dujardini (Doyère 1840)

The specimens from this species differ from Hypsibius convergens by showing a large septulum. Cuticle bars between the double-claws of the fourth pair of legs were observed, as in Guidetti & Bertolani (2001), in the 67% of total collected specimens. A total of 521 specimens were isolated from all types of habitats studied (MR, LR, MT, LT and LF). Body size range was 264 to 880 μm, mean 495 μm (SD 95). The species is considered cosmopolitan (McInnes 1994). In the Iberian Peninsula, it has been recorded for Spain (Rodríguez Roda 1949; Mihelčič 1954; Maucci & Durante Pasa 1984; McInnes 1991). Hypsibius dujardini appeared at 40 sampling points (Table 3).
