Chrysogorgia flexilis (Wright & Studer, 1889)
Dasygorgia flexilis Wright & Studer, 1889: pl. 4, fig. 2a, b; pl. 5, fig. 2; pl. 5a, fig. 10 (Chile).
Chrysogorgia flexilis Verslyus 1902: 43–47, figs. 49–63 (Makassar Strait).
Opinion: This species may occur in the region.
Justification: This Indian record could be valid: Thomson & Henderson, 1906: 28–29, pl. 2, fig. 3 (Laccadive Sea).
Literature analysis: The original description of this species by Wright & Studer (1889) is totally inadequate but that by Versluys is good enough to be able to recognise this species (Untiedt, pers. comm.) so it is possible that Thomson & Henderson (1906) could have correctly identified their material. Rao & Devi (2003) just listed the species.
