Type locality. Northern South China Sea (Wang 1998)

Record from Thailand. South-eastern Andaman Sea, next to Phuket Island (Fukuoka & Murano 2002).

Habitat and depth range. Marine, depth: 45–75 m (Fukuoka & Murano 2002) .

Distribution. South China Sea (Wang 1998) and Andaman Sea (Fukuoka & Murano 2002).

Remarks. The term semispinosa is unacceptable due to the incorrect gender ending, therefore, the valid name of the species is semispinosus (Mees & Meland 2022c) .
