Eurypon pulitzeri nom. nov.
Eurypon coronula Topsent, 1936: 66 –67, fig. 12 (not Hymeraphia coronula Bowerbank, 1874: 246 –248, pl. LXXIX).
Eurypon topsenti Pulitzer-Finalli, 1983: 531 –533, fig. 50 (not Dragmatyle topsenti Burton, 1954: 235, pl. 9, fig. 7; text-fig. 9).
Remarks. Topsent (1936) identified a specimen as Eurypon coronula (Bowerbank, 1874) . Pulitzer-Finalli (1983) revised Topsent’s material and proposed a new species: Eurypon topsenti (from Western Mediterranean). However, when Hooper (2002) transferred Dragmatyle Topsent, 1904 to Eurypon, it was established the secondary homonym of Burton’s material (previously as Dragmatyle topsenti Burton, 1954). Following the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature (ICZN 1999: art. 52.2), Eurypon topsenti Pulitzer-Finalli, 1983 must be rejected. Eurypon pulitzeri nom. nov. is proposed as a replacement name for Eurypon topsenti Pulitzer-Finalli, 1983, a secondary homonym of Eurypon topsenti (Burton, 1954) .
Etymology. Named after Gustavo Pulitzer-Finalli, who designated the species name of Topsent’s material.
