58. Haemaphysalis hirsuta Hoogstraal. Trapido & Kohls, 1966 a.

Oriental: 1) Indonesia (west of Wallace’s Line) (Kolonin 2009).

The type female of Haemaphysalis hirsuta was identified as Haemaphysalis papuana prior to its description by Hoogstraal et al. (1966a).

Kolonin (1995b) stated that Vietnamese records of Haemaphysalis hirsuta in Phan Trong (1977) correspond, in fact, to Haemaphysalis obesa . Consequently, Vietnam is excluded from the geographic distribution of Haemaphysalis hirsuta .
