This species is considered to belong to Lanzaia Brusina, 1906, for which the type species is Turbo elephantosus Megerle von Mühlfeld, 1824 . Molecular data, coupled with the teloconch sculpture, confirm its assignment to the genus Paladilhiopsis .

Our specimen is juvenile; it was found together with adult specimens, whose morphology is typical of Lanzaia bosnica (Glöer et al. 2015: fig. 22).

This species was described from the source of the Dabar River, about 6 km south of Sanski Most, Bosnia and Herzegovina (Bole 1970, Radoman 1983), but it has been found also in the nearby cave Dabarska Pećina (Radoman 1983, Seddon 2010b). Our specimens were also collected from this cave, close to the type locality. The third known locality is the canyon of the river Bliha (Bosnia and Herzegovina), described below as the type locality of P. blihensis .
