Bythiospeum gittenbergerii Reischütz & Reischütz, 2008 —Glöer et al. 2015: fig. 1.
Material examined: ZMUJ2130–ZMUJ2133
Holotype NHMW ( Naturhistorisches Museum, Wien) 103716.
Diagnosis: Shell elongated-conic, whitish, translucent, with 5.5 convex whorls separated by a deep suture; surface smooth and shiny; aperture ovate; peristome sharp and not thickened at the columella; umbilicus closed. Aperture height equals 0.4 of shell height; height of body whorl 0.6 of shell height.
Described from ‘Abfluss des Wasserwerkes' in Vau i Dejes, south-east von Shkodër, Albania (Reischutz & Reischutz 2008), only on the basis of empty shells from shell deposits (Seddon 2011). The species is currently known from three closely positioned springs. Our specimens, collected at the type locality (spring Vau i Dejës, Shkodër, Albania), are topotypes, and probably the first living specimens collected so far.
