Type locality: U.S.A. (holotype from Tanbark Flat, Los Angeles Co., California; paratypes 34 ♂ and 99 ♀ from Arizona, California and Idaho).

Remarks. The holotype is housed in BME. Bohart in 1980s identified about 350 specimens and kindly donated a paratype of A. litura Bohart to ZMMU.
