Type locality: “Turkestan occidentale: ad fl. Syr-darj'ja (A. Fedtschenko! 25.IV–3.V.1871).—Solum specimen (1 ♂) (Mus. Zool. Univers. Mosqu.)”.

The type is seriously damaged and broken into three parts; head and metasoma are glued on a label. In Kimsey & Bohart (1991: 248) the type depository is doubtfully ZIN.

Current status. Omalus jaxartis (Semenov, 1932) (transferred to Omalus Panzer by Kimsey & Bohart 1991: 248).
