Saryara longicornis Kuznetzov, 1923: 127, ♂ (type locality: “Montes Ac-Tasch. Alt. 8000ʹ” [Uzbekistan]).

Type material. HOLOTYPE: ♂, labeled “[golden disc] // Вершина / Ак-Таша [ Top of Ak-Tash] 8000ʹ. [8000 feet = 2438 m] / 26.VI-22. Н-К. [N. Kuznetzov] // Тип [Type] / Saryara lon- / gicornis Kuzn. = / = Masaris long / (Kuzn) Kost. / 23 VI 41 [Kostylev’s signature] // Masaris / longicornis / N. Kuzn / Typus // МОсКва / ЗООЛОГичесКий / МУЗей МГУ [Moscow, Zoological Museum MSU] // Holotype ♂ / Saryara longicornis / Kuznetzov, 1923 [red label]” [ZMMU].

Current status. Valid as Masaris longicornis (Kuznetzov, 1923) (Carpenter 2001) .

Remarks. Kuznetzov (1923) reported a male collected in Ak-Tash on 27.VI.1922 but the date on the label of the holotype is actually 26.VI.1922. There is another male in ZMMU, with a silver disc and the same label by Kuznetzov (“ Masaris / longicornis / N. Kuzn / Typus”) but collected in Ak-Tash on 9.VII.1923 by V. Gussakovkij. This male cannot be a part of the type series, since Kuznetzov’s paper was submitted on 16.XII.1922 (Kuznetzov 1923). There is also a female in ZMMU, with a golden disc, collected in Ak-Tash by E. Smirnov and also labeled by G. Kostylev on 23.VI.1941 as the type of M. longicornis . However, no females of this species were described by Kuznetzov (1923); thus, it is also not a part of the type series. The holotype is lacking the right flagellum of antenna.
