Palpostilpnus Aubert, 1961: 56 .

Type species: Townostilpnus (Palpostilpnus) palpator Aubert, 1961; designated in Townes (1970).

Diagnosis. Palpostilpnus includes small sized wasps and can be recognized by combination of following characters: (1) Maxillary palp reaching or almost reaching base of hind coxa; (2) Occipital carina reaching base of mandible; (3) Mesosoma obliquely sloped; (4) Area superomedia and area petiolaris of propodeum combined (in case of propodeal carinae present); (5) Ovipositor very slender and needle-like.
