DISTRIBUTION: Iranian Baluchistan (Lay, 1967); W Pakistan (Roberts, 1977); and S Afghanistan (Hassinger, 1973).

COMMENTS: Subgenus Allactaga (see Pavlinov and Shenbrot, 1985). Following Corbet (1978c: 155) A. hotsoni is considered a distinct species from A. elater and A. euphratica; see comment under A. firouzi .
