Rhopalimiris amplissimus n. sp.

Diagnosis: Recognized readily by its large, wide body; yellowish brown basic coloration, with dark brown maculae on hemelytron; and bright yellow cuneus with infuscate apex (Fig. 3A–B). By these characters, the present new species can be distinguished from the other congener described below and superficially similar taxa (members of Eocalocoris, Eurystylus, Heteropantilius and Miyamotoa). The eggs as shown in Fig. 4I–J; operculum thick, developed.
Description. Female: Body widely yellowish brown, large, wide; dorsum weakly shining, matte, with sparsely distributed, short, simple setae. Head yellowish brown; clypeus suffused with brown mesally. Antenna dark brown; segment I longer than head across eyes; segment II short, slightly incrassate, much shorter than basal width of pronotum; extreme base of segment III pale. Labium shiny yellowish brown, partly tinged with red, short, not exceeding posterior margin of mesepisternum; apical half of segment IV darkened. Pronotum yellowish brown, with a pair of obscure spots posteriorly, tumid, irregularly and transversely wrinkled; collar about as thick as basal part of antennal segment II; mesoscutum pale brown, slightly darkened laterally; scutellum bright yellow, with transverse wrinkles; thoracic pleura uniformly pale brown; metathoracic scent efferent system as in Fig. 11E. Hemelytron yellowish brown, with dark suffusion at anterior corium across clavus and large dark macula on posterior corium as in Fig. 3A; cuneus bright yellow; membrane pale smoky brown, semitransparent, with dark brown veins. All coxae and legs pale brown; apex of metafemur and each tibia darkened; mesotibia and pretarsal structure of mesoleg as in Fig. 11G–H. Abdomen almost uniformly pale brown. Genitalia (Figs. 4G–H, 11I–L): Sclerotized ring elongate oval (Figs. 4G); posterior wall wide (Fig. 11J); dorsal structure with comb-like microstructures (Fig. 11J); interramal lobe rectangular, with comb-like microstructures laterally (Fig. 11K).

Etymology. From Latin adjective, amplissimus (superlative degree of amplus = large, wide, spacious), referring to the remarkably large and wide body shape.
Distribution. Taiwan (New Taipei City, Chiayi, Pingtung).
