Distribution. Western Atlantic: USA (North and South Carolina), Jamaica, Gulf of Mexico, St. Thomas, St. Croix, Guadeloupe, Barbados, Martinique, Isla de Margarita, Isla de Cubagua, Los Roques, Tortuga, Venezuela, Brazil, Rocas Atoll, Fernando de Noronha, and Trindade island (Rathbun 1897, 1925; Carmona-Suárez & Poupin 2016; Poupin 2018; Mantelatto et al. 2020; Tavares & Mendonça 2022; present study).
Material examined. Barbados, Batts Rock, St. Michael, subtidal, 13°08’04.81”N, 59°38’12.30”W, 1 ♀ CW: 5.8 mm (BLSZ 022) . Reeds Bay, St. James, subtidal, 13°13’09.10”N, 59°38’32.44”W, 1 Ô CW: 6.0 mm (MZUSP 40889) . Schooner Bay, St. Peter, subtidal, 13°14’40.82”N, 59°38’41.97”W, 1 Ô CW: 9.0 mm (MZUSP 40904) . Brandons, St. Michael, subtidal, 13°06’59.88”N, 59°37’44.52”W, 1 Ô CW: 7.2 mm (BLSZ 259) .
Remarks. This is the first record of Pitho lherminieri for Barbados; caught in crab traps (~ 4m deep) placed on sandy and rocky bottoms on the west coast of Barbados. Pitho lherminieri can be identified by the narrow first movable segment of antenna (Carmona-Suárez & Poupin 2016).
