Platichthys flesus (Linnaeus, 1758)

Remarks. This species distributes in the Mediterranean and is listed in FishBase based on Muus & Dahlstr̂m (1978) from Syria; however, this species has not been reported from Syria in recent studies (Saad, 2005). This species was probably misidentified as being from Syria. The presence of the species needs clarification.
