Trogoderma sp. 2

Adults have an orange prothorax, suggestive of Trogoderma ruficollis Reitter, 1880 from Brazil (original description not available). The larva is light orange and flattened. It is more common under ritidomes of Eucalyptus at Campo de Mayo (Table 3). Two adults also emerged from a mud nest of Sceliphron fistularium Dahlbom ( Hymenoptera: Sphecidae) build around a twig on the underside of nest # 4 (7-V-05), which was also occupied by Camponotus bonariensis hibernating inside the open and empty cells. Fritz & Genise (1980) mention a larva of Dermestidae found inside nests of Sceliphron from Entre Ríos (Río Mocoretá) and feeding on dead spiders.
