(6) Sarscypridopsis kurilensis (Schornikov, 1974) comb. nov.

Upon describing this species Schornikov (1974: 139) stressed its resemblance with Cypridopsis granulata (Sars, 1903), a species which is now considered a synonym of S. aculeata (Costa, 1847). In consequence, Cypridopsis kurilensis is here transferred to the genus Sarscypridopsis: Sarscypridopsis kurilensis (Schornikov, 1974) comb. nov. The species is thus far only known from the Kurile Islands in the Pacific Ocean. It might be identical with S. aculeata, but this needs further investigation.
