Distribution. Western Atlantic—Brazil (Pará, Pernambuco, São Paulo) (Coelho 1997; Bertini et al. 2004).

Remarks. Previous records in São Paulo include Ubatuba (Coelho 1997; Bertini et al. 2004). The small size and its proximity to Rathbunixa sayana (Coelho 1997 as P. sayana) make it difficult to recognize them. Also, its taxonomic status should be evaluated in the future.
