Distribution. Western Atlantic—Brazil (Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Rio Grande do Sul), Uruguay, and Argentina (Bordin 1987; Melo 1996, 2008, 2010; Bertini et al. 2004; Braga et al. 2005; Spivak et al. 2019).

Remarks. Previous records on the coast of São Paulo state include Ubatuba (Bertini & Fransozo 2004; Bertini et al. 2004) and Caraguatatuba (Braga et al. 2005). Recently, the status of the type material of Rochinia gracilipes was clarified and lectotypes were selected by Tavares & Santana (2018).
