FAMILY DIPLOGLOSSIDAE Cope 1865, 228

(1 genus, 3 species, 1 endemic species)

Diploglossus Wiegmann 1834, 36 (3 species, 1 endemic species). SolĂs et al. (2014) continued to recognize Celestus Gray (1839 [p. 288]) for these lizards despite Pyron et al. (2013) presenting data that both Diploglossus and Celestus are paraphyletic in respect with each other and with another diploglossid genus ( Ophiodes Wagler 1828 [col. 740]) from South America. Diploglossus is an older name than is Celestus .

Diploglossus bivittatus Boulenger 1895, 732

Diploglossus montanus (K. Schmidt 1933, 21)

Diploglossus scansorius new combination (E) (McCranie & Wilson 1996, 260)
