Coelichneumon bilineatus (Gmelin, 1790)

Ichneumon bilineatus Gmelin, 1790: 2698 . Type lost.

Remarks: This species was reported from Hyogo Pref., Honshu, Japan (Iwata 1958, 1960), but specimens from the Eastern Palaearctic region were not found in our material to date. For a description of the European material of C. bilineatus see Riedel (2012: 1505–1506). The occurrence of C. bilineatus in Japan remains questionable, but we have included this species in the key of Japanese Coelichneumon species above.

Distribution: Europe and (?) Japan (Iwata 1958, 1960).
