Anaphothrips atroapterus Priesner

Anaphothrips atroapterus Priesner, 1921: 27 .

This European species is here newly recorded from China. It can be distinguished from most Anaphothrips species by the following combination of characters: Body uniformly dark brown; head dorsal surface sculptured with irregular polygonal reticulations behind eyes (Fig. 1); pronotum with distinct polygonal reticulations at anterior (Fig. 13); antennae 8-segmented (Fig. 25); meso- and metanotum slightly transverse (Fig. 19); metascutum without campaniform sensilla (Fig. 19); abdominal tergites and sternites with polygonal reticulation medially (Fig. 36); tergite VIII without a microtrichial posteromarginal comb but sometimes with weakly developed teeth (Fig. 42).

Specimens examined. China, Heilongjiang Province, Daqing City, Yinlang ranch (46°33.78′N, 124°50.18′E), 13.vi.2018, 2 female mic. from grasses (Jun Wang) .
