Distribution (Fig. 11). A Maghrebin endemic species, known from Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco (Vinçon & Pardo 1998). In Morocco it has been recorded from the Rif (Sánchez-Ortega & Azzouz 1998) and the High Atlas (Aubert 1956, 1961, Vinçon & Pardo 1998).
Ecology. Larvae are cold stenothermic and orophilic, occurring primarily in small brooks and torrents in high altitude biotopes from 1400 to 2900 m. The flight period is in the cooler season of the year (XI–VI).
