Distribution (Fig. 5). A West Mediterranean species that occurs in the Maghreb from Morocco to Tunisia. In Morocco, it was listed both from the Rif by Aubert (1961), Sánchez-Ortega & Azzouz (1998), Errochdi & El Alami (2008) and Errochdi et al. (2014), from the Central Plateau by El Agbani (1984) and in the High Atlas by Meinander (1967), Ajakane (1988) and Vinçon et al. (2014).

Ecology. Larvae occur in mountain brooks and torrents between 170 and 1800 m in the Rif (Errochdi et al. 2014), between 1050 and 1350 m in the Central Plateau and up to 2150 m in the High Atlas. The adults emerge in winter and spring (II–VI).
