Remarks: The species is distributed from southeastern Europe (Greece) to Pakistan (Hassan et al. 2019), and in the north, it extends from the southern foreland of the Caucasus to Inner Asia as far as Turkmenistan (Dobosz 2007). It has previously been documented in Iraq as part of the Expansive Pontomediterran faunal element (Aspöck et al. 2001).
This species differs from the other Western Palaearctic species by its small size (length of forewing: 7.5-12 mm), and can be easily distinguished from them by the characters on the dorsal surface of the pronotum. There are warty protrusions on the surface of the pronotum, each bearing a short dark bristle (Fig. 3B).
