Nothybus biguttatus Wulp, 1896: 112; Aczél, 1955: 10; Frey, 1958: 38; Steyskal, 1977: 30; Galinskaya & Shatalkin, 2015: 583; Lonsdale & Marshall, 2016: 16. Syntypes (³♀): Indonesia, Java, ZMAN (lost).
Diagnosis. Frons (Figs 30–32) with two velvety black anterior patches. Mesonotum (Fig. 33) with regularly 4 rows of acrostichal setulae in mid-longitudinal stripe. Wing (Fig. 34) distal to level of dm-cu uniformly dark brown except for clear spots in cells r 2+3 and r 4+5 and a more diffuse patch in m 1; crossvein r-m surrounded by dark brown round spot; distal part of CuA 1 subtended by elongate-oval dark brown area extending to dm-cu. Fore basitarsomere (Fig. 35) dark brown with wide middle portion white. Abdominal tergites almost entirely black (Figs 36, 37).
Material examined. CHINA: 1♀, Tibet, Medog, Beibeng (N29.330938°, E95.339495°), 29 May. 2019, leg. Y. He & R . Shen (CAU).
Distribution. CHINA (Tibet) [new record], INDONESIA (Java, Sumatra), NEPAL, VIETNAM.
Remarks. The specimen examined here is similar to the northern Vietnamese variation mentioned by Galinskaya & Shatalkin (2015) and Lonsdale & Marshall (2016), but the mid femur has a dark medial ring and the hind femur lacks a dark medial band. These specimens are also darker than those from Java and Sumatra but they are identical in other external features.
