Dashymenia tenmalai Wolski & Gorczyca sp. nov.
(Figures 10–11, 65–82)
Diagnosis. Dashymenia tenmalai is recognized by the following set of features: antennal segment I nearly cylindrical, entirely dark red to dark brown; pronotal pale, lateral stripes narrow, hardly visible in dorsal view (Figs. 10–11); segment II somewhat flattened laterally (Fig. 10); scutellum orange with a large, medial dark brown tinge originating from basal margin (Figs. 10–11); DSS strongly broadened basally, remainder of the segment gradually becomes narrower and forming a sharply pointed apex (Fig. 80).
D. tenmalai is most similar to D. cognata, D. colubrina, D, kotejai, and D. webbi in sharing pale lateral stripes on the pronotum. This species can, however, be distinguished by the coloration of the antennal segment I and the shape male genitalia.
Description. Male. COLORATION (Figs. 10–11). Dorsum mostly dark brown with orange areas. Head. Dull yellowish, sometimes tinged with brown or red; antenna blackish dark brown; antennal segment I usually dark red, rarely dark brown; segment II varying from dark brown to blackish; segments III and IV dark brown; labium brown. Thorax. Pronotum. Dark brown, tinged with yellow or orange anteriorly and laterally. Scutellum. Orange, with distinct dark brown patch originating from basal margin, occupying most of medial portion of dorsal surface, not reaching apex. Thoracic pleura. Proepimeron varying from dull yellow to orange; remaining pleura dark brown; evaporative areas fuscous; peritreme brown. Hemelytron. Dark brown; clavus with yellowish or orange stripe along its inner margin (claval commissure yellowish to orange); corium with a medially situated and relatively broad orange patch in apical portion, contiguous with inner angle of cuneus; membrane fuscous to dark fuscous. Legs. Dark reddish brown, except for dull yellowish tarsi. Abdomen. Brown with dark brown areas. STRUCTURE AND VESTITURE (Figures 10–11, 66–79). Elongate oval; dorsal surface mixed with dense semirecumbent and erect setae. Head. Covered with relatively long, protruding setae; vertex and frons weakly rugose; vertex with two, somewhat convex tubercles, each contiguous with occipital carina and inner margin of each eye; antennal segment I covered with moderately dense, long, semirecumbent setae, segment nearly cylindrical, weakly narrowed basally; segment II weakly bicompressed, mixed with three types of setae: dense, long, semirecumbent setae (similar to those present on segment I but denser), fine, short, scale-like, sparse setae, and several protruding, bristlelike setae; segments III and IV shining, covered with moderately dense, semirecumbent, bristlelike setae; labium stout, apex reaching procoxae apically. Thorax. Scutellum. Scutellum somewhat convex. Thoracic pleura. Proepimeron deeply and coarsely punctate; mesepimeron with punctation occupying its dorsoposterior surface, remainder of mesepisternum smooth and heavily polished; metepisternum inpunctate. Hemelytron. Membrane with minor cell hardly visible; major cell rather small, rounded. Legs. Covered with moderately dense, almost recumbent setae; tarsomere II divided; pretarsal claw not toothed subapically. Abdomen. Weakly narrowed toward apex, covered with moderately dense setae.
Male genitalia. Endosoma (Fig. 80). Weakly membranous; DSS strongly broadened basally, remainder of sclerite gradually narrowing towards apex and sharply pointed apically; AES rhomboid, strongly smaller than DSS; PES strongly membranous, with apical portion rounded. Left paramere (Fig. 81). Somewhat rounded; apical process relatively long, moderately sharply pointed; sensory lobe somewhat convex. Right paramere (Fig. 82). Right margin straight, left margin strongly rounded, basal process with left margin sinuate, right margin rounded; apical process thin, cylindrical, and curved.
Female. Coloration, structure and vestiture as in male.
