Remarks. The species was originally described from Jamaica (Fabricius 1775). Additional specimens, that would become junior synonyms, were attributed to Hispaniola. Distant (1906) then considered all reports of the species to occur in the Antilles which he must have considered to include both the Greater and Lesser Antilles. The species is considered to have been reported only from the Greater Antilles and is removed from the Lesser Antilles cicada fauna.

Distribution. The species is known from Jamaica and Hispaniola (Metcalf 1963a; Sanborn 2013).
