Remarks. Boulard (2001) referenced Fidicina mannifera from French Guiana and Guadeloupe. However, he then stated that the homeland (“patrie”) of Fidicina mannifera remains uncertain. Since Boulard obtained the specimens referenced in the 2001 paper a few years before the 1998 congress where the information was introduced (proceedings published in 2001), these specimens were in his possession prior to the publication of the work where multiple new species similar to Fidicina mannifera were published (Boulard & Martinelli 1996). The material examined for Fidicina mannifera did not reference any specimens from Guadeloupe and Guadeloupe was not included in the geographic distribution of the species in Boulard & Martinelli (1996). Therefore, the specimens of Fidicina mannifera reported from Guadeloupe in Boulard (2001) are considered to be members of the new species described above and Fidicina mannifera is removed from the cicada fauna of the Lesser Antilles.

Distribution. The species has been recorded from the Antilles, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, and Suriname (Metcalf 1963a; Duffels & van der Laan 1985; Sanborn 2011b; 2013; 2014; 2019a; 2020b, c, d; 2023a; Nunes et al. 2023).
