Lepella Evans, 1937
This is a distinctive monobasic genus, the only species, L. lepeletier (Latreille) being found from Nigeria east to western Kenya and south to Angola (Ackery et al. 1995), being found on the fringes of the main forest belt rather than in it (Larsen 2005). It has been reported to feed on ‘grasses’ (Van Someren 1974) and ‘grasses generally’ (Sevastopulo 1975), although Sevastopulo (unpublished) does not seem to have reared it himself. Subsequent authors repeat this information, but we have not traced any more details.
