TYPE LOCALITY: Sierra Leone .

DISTRIBUTION: Gambia to Kenya, south to Angola, S. Zaire, and Burundi.

COMMENT: Type locality is uncertain; see Gray, 1838, Ann. Mag. Nat. Hist., ser. 1, 1:27, for the Sierra Leone information (IR); and Van Mensch and Van Bree, 1969, Biologia Gabon., 4:236-269, for "probably between Cross River and River Congo" which was given in a review of the species (CPG).
