The sexstrigatum group

Diagnosis. According to Sakagami & Ebmer (1996), this group is mainly characterized by the female metasomal terga with distinct fimbriae on latero-apical margin (Fig. 6 C) and the male head with a size-linked gigantism and genal process. However, some species (e.g., L. japonicum and L. zipangu) do not share these character states. It may be necessary to revise both diagnostic characters and included members in a future study.
