In mat of Bazzania horridula Schiffn., intermixed with Drepanolejeunea sp. on moist shaded bark of tree in rainforest on middle slope of mountain ridge north of Vanga River on northwest side of island at 1000–1200 m alt., 7°57′S, 157°03′E, 13.VIII.1977 D.H. Norris & G.L. Roberts 49790 (H, holotype)”.
