Identification. Frontal lobes in frontal view triangular, each posterior margin forms an (almost) right angle with the lateral margin; ventral mesopleural carina well-de- veloped and lamelliform; and longitudinal translucent keel present on the postpetiolar sternite (Lattke 1997).

Distribution. Apterostigma goniodes is distributed from southern Mexico throughout Central America to Colom- bia (Lattke 1997; Castro et al. 2018; García-Cárdenas et al. 2018).
