Material in MHNG, Lamarck collection: 6 possible syntypes MHNG INVE 51737(ex MHNG 1098/39) (figured herein, Fig. 14A – C, Fig. 15A – C); 1098/39/1: 32 mm; 1098/39/2: 33 mm; 1098/39/3: 40 mm; 1098/39/4: 33 mm; 1098/39/5: 21 mm; 1098/39/6: 30 mm. Locality on the label: Sénégal .

Remarks: According to Rosalie de Lamarck, her father’s collection contained 6 specimens. However, the sizes of the MHNG specimens do not exactly match those stated by Lamarck.

Current taxonomic position: Pusionella buccinata (Lamarck, 1822); placed in Pusionella [ Turridae] by Gray (1850): 68. Locality is West Africa. Lamarck lists a possible synonymy with Pusionella vulpina (Born, 1778) .
