Subgenus Hebrusella Poisson, 1944

Hebrusella Poisson, 1944: 111 . Type species (original designation): Hebrus africanus Poisson, 1934 (Mozambique) .

Diagnosis. Poisson (1944, 1957a) diagnosed the new sugbenus Hebrusella based on a single character: ‘Antennal segment IV completely divided into two segments (IVa and IVb) by true articulation’ (see Poisson 1944: Fig. 2 C; Poisson 1957a: Fig. 129B; Andersen 1982: Fig. 114c; Kanyukova 2006: Fig. 372), whereas the subgenus Hebrus s. str. has ‘segment IV incompletely divided by membranous ring, not fully articulated’ (see Poisson 1944: Figs. 1 D, 3D, 5D; Poisson 1957a: Figs. 130B, 134C; Andersen 1982: Fig. 114b and Pl. C; Kanyukova 2006: Fig. 373). This character is difficult to observe and thus far, no other reliable character has been added to the diagnosis of the subgenus.
