Pseudomicippe sp.*

Material examined. 1 male (4.7 x 7.6 mm) (DABFUK), Kavaratti, 11 October 2014 .

Remarks. The present specimen is a subadult and was probably freshly moulted before it was collected. It does not appear to belong to any of the 14 recognised species of Pseudomicippe Heller, 1861 (Griffin & Tranter 1986; Ng et al. 2008). It has a different carapace shape from P. maldivensis Griffin & Tranter, 1986, also described from the same area. Intact adult specimens, especially males, will need to be obtained before this species can be described.
