Distribution. Western Atlantic— Brazil (São Paulo, Rio Grande do Sul), Uruguay, Argentina (Fransozo et al. 2011; Spivak et al. 2019).

Remarks. Paguristes robustus is exceedingly rare in all surveys carried out in the past decades on the coast of São Paulo. It was only sampled in 1998/1999 as the first record published by Fransozo et al. (2011), and by us in 2001 and identified later by molecular tools (Mantelatto et al. 2006).
